Ignition Interlock is a rapidly growing service in DWI prevention.  Those who have been arrested for drunk driving are ordered to have one on their vehicle for a certain amount of time, usually from 6 months to a year.   ESCAPE realized the need to provide Interlock services for those consumers involved in both SATOP, or meeting Ignition Interlock requirements.

The devices require the vehicle operator to provide a breath sample prior to starting the car.  If alcohol is detected the device prevents the vehicle from starting.

Currently Missouri requires the device to be installed on the vehicle of an individual that has had two, or more, DWI's and to show proof to the Department of Revenue, License Bureau, prior to their license being re-instated.  The device must then be maintained on that vehicle for at least 6-months.  There is pending legislation to require the same of those that receive their first DWI.

We at ESCAPE Interlock try to make this as convenient as possible while treating everyone with dignity and respect.  To view action sequences of the Determinator, how it works, and how to operate it, just click on this STAR:

The  Determinator

Our Alcohol Detection System (ADS), The Determinator®, is a state-of-the-art ignition interlock device, an automotive safety device. The system analyzes blood alcohol content and determines if a driver is within a legal limit to get behind the wheel. In order to start a vehicle with an installed ADS, a breath sample must be given. If a certain level of alcohol is read, the vehicle will not start. The setting can be adjusted as necessary from a zero to a required level.   The durable ignition interlock device hardware consists of a user-friendly and discreet mouthpiece, and a control module, which is wired to the vehicle.  For more information please visit the manufacturer's website, Alcohol Detection Systems, at www.stopdwi.com .
